Easy to do, Easy Not to Do

2

- Perhaps you already know what to do

to improve your English speaking,

but are you doing it?

(rumbling)

Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, hello.

I'm Julia Northbrook from DoingEnglish.com

here with another quick two minutes

English learning tip for you.

Nothing that I teach, either in these videos

or in my coaching programs, are particularly difficult.

Yes, it can be uncomfortable

and the difficulty does come

from an unwillingness to change,

an unwillingness to do something differently.

But ultimately, everything that I do,

everything that I teach,

is predicated on a really simple idea.

If you're not getting results that you need now,

change the things you are doing

to get different results.

Or to put it another way, keep doing the same things

as you're doing now,

and keep getting the same results.

You all know this.

If you're doing something and it's not helping you,

simply doing more of it, isn't gonna make a difference.

You're just gonna get more of the same results.

So you need to change what you are doing.

You may even have watched my free training,

DoingEnglish.com/FreeTraining,

where I show you the five key changes

that you need to make during this learning routine

in order to see progress in your English speaking.

But are you implementing those changes?

Are you actually doing them?

You see, those changes are pretty easy to make

but they're also very easy not to do.

Human beings resist change,

it's just the way we're wired.

We have evolved like this.

We are a species that doesn't want

to step outside of its comfort zone

and do different things to get different results.

So you have to be disciplined,

you have to actually get yourself to make the changes

and to do the work.

Again, easy to do, but easy not do do.

Take me, for example, this year, 2019,

I have three core goals.

One of those goals is getting fitter,

becoming more muscular, transforming my physical appearance,

so that I look like a man and not like a 12-year-old girl.

And you know what, it's all pretty easy to do.

I've got a plan put together for me by my PT

and all I have to do is get up in the morning,

get into the gym, and implement it.

But you know what, sometimes when the rain is lashing down,

the wind is blowing

and it's still dark outside at seven o'clock in the morning,

as it tends to be here in Ireland at this time of year,

the temptation to say screw it

and just go back to bed, is immense.

But I know that doing that,

is gonna get me the same result

as I've always got with my fitness and my health.

And that is, not very much.

This time, I am dedicated to actually getting out there

and doing the work and getting the results.

And so far, so good.

This is exactly the same for you,

with your English improvement.

But if you don't know what to do yet

to make the changes that you need to make,

head over to DoingEnglish.com/FreeTraining

and that'll get you started.

If you've already watched that

and you're not making those changes, why not?

Look, if you keep doing what you're doing,

you'll keep getting the results that you've always gotten.

And the fact that you're here, watching this video,

tells me that you are not happy with those results.

So get on with it.

Implement what you learn and make those changes.

But, all this stuff, again, it's easy to do

but it's easy not to do.

But if you don't do it,

you ain't gonna get the result that you want.

So get on with it.

This is me, Julian Northbrook, signing out,

from another video.

See you in the next one, bye bye.
